Advocate Plus Sierra Leone, with support from the UNDP, strengthened Sierra Leone’s national and local capacities for conflict prevention and peace preservation. The project established a nationwide network of trained mediators and dialogue facilitators, empowering youth, community leaders, and civil society to use peaceful mechanisms for resolving disputes and fostering social cohesion.
Scaling Up Rice Production for Local Markets
Funded by the Mastercard Foundation, this flagship project revolutionized rice farming in Sierra Leone by integrating modern technologies—like drones and improved seed varieties—to enhance local rice production, food security, and women’s participation in agriculture.
Combating Climate Change through Solar Cookers and Rice Straw Briquettes
This project promotes solar cookers and rice straw briquettes as clean, sustainable alternatives to charcoal and firewood — reducing emissions, deforestation, and household health risks while creating green jobs for women and youth.
Community Policing Initiative (UNDP Funded)
Through funding from the UNDP, Advocate Plus Sierra Leone strengthened community policing and public trust in Kambia District. The project built the capacity of Sierra Leone Police officers and local stakeholders to improve law enforcement, community safety, and gender-sensitive approaches to security—especially in schools and vulnerable communities.
