Project Objective

To strengthen Sierra Leone’s rice value chain through technology, training, and market linkages that empower smallholder farmers, especially women and youth.

Our Approach

Advocate Plus introduced a climate-smart model combining precision agriculture, drone technology, and cooperative training to modernize rice farming and reduce post-harvest losses.

Key Activities & Highlights

  1. Modernization — Introduced drones for aerial mapping and crop monitoring.
  2. Farmer Training — Trained 2,000 farmers in agronomy and post-harvest management.
  3. Women’s Empowerment — Formed 30 women-led cooperatives and improved access to credit.
  4. Market Linkages — Strengthened local trader partnerships and improved rice packaging.
