Community Policing Initiative (UNDP Funded)
Donate NowGender Equality
Project Objective
To strengthen community safety, public trust, and gender-sensitive policing in Kambia District by enhancing the capacity of Sierra Leone Police officers and local communities to collaboratively prevent and address security and gender-related issues.
Our Approach
The initiative applied a people-centered policing model, focusing on prevention, dialogue, and partnership. Advocate Plus worked with UNDP and the Sierra Leone Police to operationalize community policing at the grassroots level—training officers to engage constructively with citizens, schools, and traditional authorities.
Special emphasis was placed on school safety and gender-based violence prevention, ensuring that community policing approaches addressed the unique needs of women, girls, and youth.
