CassavaCycle: Smart Packaging to Tackle Plastic Pollution
Turning Cassava into Climate Action. Donate NowClimate Action
Project Objective
To reduce plastic pollution and promote a circular economy by developing a community-based social enterprise that converts cassava starch into biodegradable packaging and utensils, creating sustainable green jobs for youth and women.
Our Approach
CassavaCycle leverages Sierra Leone’s abundant cassava resources to produce eco-friendly plastic alternatives. Partnering with farmer cooperatives and youth groups, the project integrates manufacturing, awareness campaigns, and policy advocacy to address plastic waste holistically.
